Top Ten Books I will Probably Never Read

This week's them for Broke and Bookish's Top Ten Tuesday is the top ten books I will probably never read.
There are a variety of books that I'll probably never read for various reasons. For example, The Hunger Games... I know so much about them already I probably wouldn't enjoy them very much reading them at this point. Anyways, I'm not a big fan of dystopian novels. If you have a question about why I won't read something feel free to ask... if you want to try to convince me to read it... feel free to try. Jut know it probably won't happen. :)
  1. The Hunger Games
  2. Divergent
  3. The Fault in Our Stars
  4. Gone Girl
  5. Twilight
  6. Fangirl
  7. If I Stay
  8. Looking for Alaska
  9. The Notebook
  10. A Game of Thrones

  1. I'm not a big fan of dystopian novels either but read Hunger Games because my kids were reading it and ended up enjoying it which surprised me. I haven't felt motivated to read the others though. I was perfectly satisfied with where the first book ended. I read The Notebook when it first came out and it just felt emotionally manipulative.

    1. That's nice that you can read one and feel good about it where it ends. :)

  2. same with Twilight and The Fault in Our Stars. During the time when Twilight was 'the thing', I honestly considered reading it but my interest to it immediately died down. I've read Divergent and at some point, I enjoyed it but never loved it. The idea was the sole great thing about it, honestly. As for The Hunger Games, I was really hesitating then but I ended up loving it. Sucks that you're not a fan of dystopian novels though.. oh well.. and I also have The Game of Thrones on my tbr but its thickness just makes me stay away from it..

    1. The Game of Thrones is so thick! It's that and other things that keep me away from it.

  3. You definitely aren't missing out on anything by not reading Looking for Alaska. I was so disappointed with that one. I enjoyed Divergent, but I never see myself finishing the series. I did love The Hunger Games and The Fault in out Stars though :)

    1. I think I might have enjoyed Hunger Games if I had read it before hearing so much about it.

  4. Wish I could add Twilight and The Fault in Our Stars but too late, I already read them. Too bad you can't unread something.

  5. The only one that I'm going to say you definitely should read is Divergent! I absolutely LOVE that series! Hunger games is good too, but Divergent is the best. I've read Twilight, but I agree with the rest of your list! I can't stand Nicholas Sparks!

    Here are my Top Ten!

  7. I've read pretty much all the books on your list except for Game of Thrones and Gone Girl. I don't know if I'd ever read those. Great list by the way!

  8. I loved Fangirl! As a Christian, I have some definite issues with it. But I can't help loving it anyway... The rest of them are books that can definitely be skipped. :)

    1. Thank you for being candid enough to say "as a Christian". I really appreciate that as a Christian myself. :) I've considered Fangirl... I'm just not sure.

  9. I love The Hunger Games trilogy, and I'd consider Fangirl, simply because I enjoyed Attachments. I tried A Game of Thrones and If I Stay. A few chapters of each convinced me they are not for me. The rest of your list I have no interest in.

I understand your reasons for not reading The Hunger Games, but have you considered Collins' other series, The Underland Chronicles? It's one of my favorite anthropomorphic animal stories. :D

  10. The Hunger Games is good, if you don't want to read all of them, the first one works pretty well on it's own, although if you're not interested in dystopians then I get why you'd be hesitant to read it. I thought Divergent was okay, didn't love it though, although I love dystopians so I'll read most of those unless the premise is not interesting then I won't. Twilight was on my list! I unfortunately read TFIOS but I will never be picking up another John Green again. GOT isn't really my cup of tea either. I liked Gone Girl though.

    1. I'm glad to hear from someone who isn't a TFIOS fan because it seems like everyone else in the world is.

  11. With a couple of exceptions, your list breaks my heart. There really are some good books on that list...promise. I can totally understand the point of view of having a book more or less ruined for you by the amount of hype and the chunks of plot you've already learned via mainstream media. It's like one giant spoiler. It taints the whole experience. My TTT

    1. Lol. Thanks...I really hate how much a book can get spoiled for me just from a news heading or something small like that.

  12. Haha, that's like exactly what I'm thinking;) I might read Fangirl and The Notebook, though.

    1. The Notebook just sounds too mushy for me. I'm not as tolerant to romance as you are. ;)
