- Elizabeth Bennet from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
- Fanny Price from Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
- Anne Elliot from Persuasion by Jane Austen
- Elinor Dashwood from Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
- Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery
- Amy Dorrit from Little Dorrit by Charles Dickens
- Lady Jane Grey from Coronation of Glory by Deborah Meroff- Kind of cheating because she is a real historical figure that I admire but there's a book about her so there!
- Molly Gipson from Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell
- Precious Ramotswe from The No. One Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith
- Luna Lovegood from The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling- I know she isn't exactly the heroine of the story but I actually kind of prefer her to Hermione.

It was very hard to make this list and not just fill it with Jane Austen characters!
ReplyDeleteExactly! I'm glad someone else has the same predicament! :)
DeleteI had never met anyone else who has read the No. One Ladies Detective Agency. Now I have!
ReplyDeleteHow cool! I haven't kept up with them recently but I loved the ones I read. Someday I'll finish them. :)
DeleteI have never read these books but maybe i'll give austen a try.MY TOP TEN TUESDAY
ReplyDeleteYou definitely should! :)
DeleteLuna is a fabulous choice! I love how very much herself she is. Your list has also made me realize how much Jane Austen I need to read! Great choices!
ReplyDeleteYou do! Jane Austen should be on everyone's list. ;)
DeleteI haven't even heard of most of these! Haha! LOVE Luna! She made my list too :)
ReplyDeleteHere are my Top Ten!
Luna is so amazingly unique!
DeleteI haven't read any of these. I've seen Hermione on a lot of people's lists, so it's refreshing to see a different character from the series.
ReplyDelete- Emma Likes Books
How did you miss Harry Potter? ;)
DeleteGreat picks. Many of these are characters that I'm not too familiar with. Although Luna did make my list, I absolutely adore her. I also love Anne Shirley but totally forgot to include her in my list.
ReplyDeleteThey are both awesome!
DeleteOH MY GOODNESS! Elizabeth Bennett sooooo should have made my list, she's a flipping fantastic heroine!! Awesome list :)
ReplyDeleteYes she should have! ;)
DeleteThanks!
ReplyDeletePoor Catherine Morland and Emma Woodhouse. :( Just kidding! Great list!
ReplyDeleteHaha! :) I like Catherine, partially because I know I'm a lot like her but I'm not sure she epitomizes a heroine.... I know I don't! ;)
DeleteEmma... I just don't like quite as much. I enjoy the book and movie she's just not as high up there for me as the others. :)
