The Disney Princess Book Tag

Hamlette tagged me in the Disney Princess Book Tag (see her answers HERE)! This is one of those rare times when I was actually tagged in the tag and I didn't just steal it. ;)

1) Snow White: Name your favorite classic

Easy! Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.

2) Cinderella: Name a book that kept you reading well past your bedtime

Recently The Bronte Plot by Katherine Reay. I kept reading and reading and it was eleven o clock before I knew it.  I only went to sleep because my husband came to bed and we had a long day the next day (Thanksgiving). So many different books have kept me up at night before... I distinctly remember Agatha Christie's Sleeping Murder keeping me awake.

3) Aurora: Name your favorite classic romance

Still Pride and Prejudice so I'll have to think up something new... The Scarlet Pimpernel maybe?

4) Ariel: Name a book that's about sacrifices and fighting for your dreams

Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly. Those women definitely fought hard for their dreams. The answers for this questions and question 9 are interchangeable.

5) Belle: Name a book with a smart and independent female character

First though is Elizabeth Bennet but I can't keep using Pride and Prejudice! So Emma Wodehouse from Jane Austen's Emma it is!

6) Jasmime: Name a book with a character that challenged the social conventions of his or her world

Scarlette O'Hara from Margaret Mitchell's Gone With the Wind. I do not like her but she definitely challenges the social conventions.

7) Pocahontas: Name a book with an ending that was a roller coaster of emotions

First thing I thought of was Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay. I was racing through the ending just wanting to know what happened so the emotions would stop emoting! ;)

8) Mulan: Name a book with a kick-a** female character

Each of the books in The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer had some pretty awesome female characters. Scarlette was probably the most kick-a** though actually not one of my favorite characters. And then of course there's Eowyn....

9) Tiana: Name a book featuring a hard working, self-made character

Carry on Mr. Bowditch by Jean Lee Latham. So inspiring! Just read it! The answers for this questions and question 4 are interchangeable.

10) Rapunzel: Name a book that features an artist

I can no think of anything! I'm blanking! Jane Eyre paints. So Jane Eyre it is.

11) Merida: Name a book that features a mother-daughter relationship

The obvious answer is Elizabeth Gaskell's Wives and Daughters but they're kind of all terrible mother-daughter relationships. For a good mother-daughter relationship though Little Women for sure.

12) Anna and Elsa: Name a book that features a great relationship between siblings

Pride and Prejudice's Jane and Elizabeth... but I can't use that again.... so.... Little Women.... but I can't use that again... so....
Here's a few books I can think of with great sibling relationships: Harry Potter series (specifically thinking of the Weasley family), Hardy Boys, the Little House in the Big Woods series, and The Viking Quest series. I love good family relationships in books. :)

Hope you enjoyed this fun tag and feel free to steal it!

Ten Favorite Musical Moments

I've been on a listening to music from musicals kick recently (cause I don't have time to actually watch them!). This has sparked this post of my Ten Favorite Musical Moments!
There are plenty of musicals I have not yet seen so don't assume I hate the musical because I don't have your favorite one represented here on this list. Also, don't presume I love the musical because it is represented on this list. I may just like it's music.
In no particular order.
  1. Tradition!  From Fiddler on the Roof
  2. Do, Re, Mi from The Sound of Music
  3. Singing in the Rain from Singing in the Rain
  4. The Barn Dance from Seven Brides from Seven Brothers
  5. Salesman Song from The Music Man
  6. Do You Hear the People Sing from Les Miserables
  7. I Could have Danced all Night from My Fair Lady
  8. Step in Time from Mary Poppins
  9. The Black Hills of Dakota from Calamity Jane
  10. All I Ask of You from the Phantom of the Opera
And some Disney honorable mentions. :)
  1. Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast
  2. Under the Sea from The Little Mermaid
If you are a musical lover as well feel free to consider yourself tagged! I'd love to see what your favorite musical moments are. :)

Cinderella Party Tag 2016

Heidi at Along the Brandywine is hosting a Cinderella Party this week! Go check it out and participate in the fun HERE. Disclaimer.... I haven't seen the 2015 live action Disney version of Cinderella yet.

Cinderella Party Tag:

1. In the vast array of fairytale heroines, what particular character qualities most define Cinderella? Kindness. In all of the versions and spinoffs of Cinderella I've seen that is the quality she always shows.

2. What are some of the deeper, big picture differences you see between retellings where both stepsisters are nasty and others where one is nasty and one is kind? How do you think the two takes differently develop/illuminate/affect Cinderella’s character and also the overarching story itself?
I'm thinking of Ever After off the top of my head as the one where one sister is nice(ish) and the other isn't. Honestly I think it's done more for comedic effect than anything. The nice(ish) sister ends up being stupid as well. I think that it effects Cinderella's character in giving a little relief from the cruelty around her and also maybe encouraging her in her kindness.

3. Are you an animal lover? Would you eagerly count mice, lizards, cows, and geese as friends? Dogs and cats? Dogs yes. Some of those others I might have to get used to.

4. After asking question #3, I realized how remarkably many of the adaptations I’ve seen have Cinderella either horseback riding or involved with horses. Have you ever ridden? If so, have you ever ridden sidesaddle or bareback? I don't think I've ever ridden sidesaddle or bareback but I haven't ridden since I was a wee child so I don't remember my horse riding experiences well.

5. Your favorite Cinderella dress/s? I love the ball dress from Ever After. From the pictures I've seen of 2015 Cinderella I really like her ball dress and her wedding dress too. I also like the ball dress from the animated version. So basically they haven't one wrong with the ball dress yet. ;)

6. Do you ever think of Cinderella while doing your household chores? :) Of course! Especially when mopping. When we were kids we used to joke around and say "Cinderella do this and that" in our most snobbish portrayal of the stepmother that we could manage. Cause we were cool. ;)

7. What major character traits do you think are essential in a faithful prince? Honesty, loyalty, kindness and a sense of humor.

8. Your top THREE favorite fairy tales (as in the original folk tales, not adaptations). Beauty and the Beast (absolutely my favorite fairytale... the heroine reads!), The Twelve Dancing Princesses (I'm not sure why but I loved reading this story as a kid) and The Emperor's New Clothes (because of it's political implications).

9. Your top FIVE current favorite fairy tale/legend type films (BESIDES any Cinderella adaptations)- Disney's Beauty and the Beast, Disney's Tangled, Enchanted, The Princess Bride (does this count?) and The Swan Princess (very sentimental here). The first two were obvious for me but I had a hard time choosing the rest just because I'm kind of "whatever" after the first two. I almost chose Frozen but it gets enough hype without my help.

10. If you could play Cinderella and the story could be set in any region of the world and any time period, what would you pick? And what would your dream ‘ball gown’ for it be like? I like the 1800s time period that the Brothers Grimm created. Off the top of my head I'd just go with the ball gown from the 2015 Cinderella.

11. And (purely for fun :))… what color/s do you immediately associate with Cinderella? Blue.

The Not-Your-Average Disney Tag

The amazing Olivia from Meanwhile in Rivendell tagged me in this fun Disney related tag! :)

  1. Favorite Disney movie of all time? Beauty and the Beast
  2. Favorite Disney Character? Belle
  3. First Disney movie seen in cinemas? I had to go look this one up. I actually haven't seen many Disney movies in theaters. I'm not counting the Pixar ones either that are for some reason are listed under Disney even though when they were made when Disney didn't own Pixar. Non-animated- The Lion the Witch and Wardrobe. Animated- Frozen... not positive on this because I might have gone and seen Up in theaters and that was after Disney owned Pixar but I still count that as Pixar so....
  4. What Disney item do you collect the most? Nothing? The music I guess. I have plenty of the music.
  5. What is your favorite Disney song? Belle, Be our Guest, Under the Sea, Kiss the Girl, Poor Unfortunate Soul (I have a weird sense of humor?), I'll Make a Man out of You, That's How you Know, Love is an Open Door (cracks me up so much!), Do you want to Build a Snowman, I Won't Say I'm in Love (cracks me up a lot too!) and When Will my Life Begin. Honestly, there's few Disney songs I hate. They're so ridiculously catchy even though sometimes they are so ridiculously stupid!
  6. Which Disney voice actor would you like to meet? Never really thought of meeting any of them.
  7. Favorite Disney movie that is not a classic? Tangled!
  8. Flounder, Sebastian or Scuttle? Sebastian!
  9. Saddest moment in a Disney movie? Y'all know I'm not an emotional person so I've never cried over a movie but I have appreciate the sad moments. Probably Do you want to Build a Snowman makes me the saddest. It's very touching. I guess if we're counting Up as Disney then of course the beginning of it is beautifully touching as well. :)
  10. Which Disney princess has the best sidekick? Rapunzel! Because Pascal is hilariously silent and Maximus is awesome!
  11. Of the lesser known Disney movies, which would you recommend? Snow White and the Seven Dwarves! I feel like no one really notices it as much as it was the first and not as great of quality but the story is fun and music is hilarious and fun! It was a favorite growing up... especially the Silly Song. :)
If you're a Disney lover (or hater too I guess) feel free to consider yourself tagged and answer the questions! :)

A Disney Book Tag!!!!

I saw this over at Reviews from a Bookworm and thought it looked fun so here are my answers! Beware, my thought processes come out a lot in these tags!

Anna and Elsa- A book involving siblings

So many options for this one! I love The Lord of the Rings (Eomer and Eowyn), The Chronicles of Narnia, Little Women, Pride and Prejudice (Jane and Lizzy!), To Kill a Mockinbird, Sense and Sensibility, Swallows and Amazons, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House series. There are more I'm missing I'm sure but these are the first ones I thought of.

Rapunzel- A book that made you emotional

Recently, Rilla of Ingleside had me almost tearing up, which shocked me. I was tired. ;)

Merida- A book featuring a female warrior

The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings are what first come to mind, but I'm probably missing something obvious (and no I haven't read The Hunger Games or Divergent).

Tiana- A book that features realistic struggles

Not sure on this one. How about Little Women? I can empathize with Jo's struggles.

Belle- A literary book or classic

Pride and Prejudice for the win!!!

Pocahontas- A nature themed book or a book by a naturalist

The Redwall series by Brian Jacques and Watership Down by Richard Adams.

Jasmine- A book about the desire to be free

I don't know! The first thing that actually came to my mind was The Lord of the Rings and Eowyn but the book isn't actually just about that.

Mulan- A book featuring war or battles

The Lord of the Rings!!!!!

Ariel- A book featuring curiosity or learning

The first thing that came to my mind was Harry Potter... I'm not sure why as I don't think it completely fits the description of this one.

Cinderella- A book featuring manual labor

Hmmm... I don't know... again! Okay, I came up with Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. They're manual working in it so it counts!

Sleeping Beauty- A book featuring sleep

What books feature sleep???? Goodnight Moon? Does that count?

Snow White- A book featuring one of the seven deadly sins

A lot of books do! Lust- I think of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

Megara- A book featuring Greek mythology

Okay I should be able to think up something for this! I haven't (yet) read the Percy Jackson series so don't suggest that! I've read a lot of Greek mythology books but not fictional books based off of Greek mythology that I can think of... but I still have a funny feeling I have! Okay it's come to me! Till  We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis!

Alice- A book featuring nonsense or a book featuring an unusual other world

Honestly the first ones I think of are Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass but that seems like cheating since this is Alice. Therefore, I'll also include The Wonderful Wizard of Oz!

Maid Marian- A book with a canine

The Hound of the Baskervilles? ;) Where the Redfern Grows is also good and I like the movie of Old Yeller but I haven't read the book yet.

Nala- A book with a feline

I don't know! I don't care for cats much! Oh but I do like Anne of the Island's cat Rusty!

Well that's all! They really did include pretty much every Disney heroine ever!

Me and My Music

I love music! I would say I have a good variety of music I listen to but then again there is still some music I definitely don't listen to by choice. Because I know you really care what music I listen to ;) today I'm going to share about my music.
I'm just going to run down each playlist of mine because that's how I like to separate out my music on iTunes.

Allison Kraus

This is music from a CD that my best friend gave me. I don't listen to it a ton but every once and awhile the mood will take me. One of the songs on the playlist is separate from the disc and I listen to it a lot more often but that's mostly due to fact that it is in my Indulgences playlist also, which I'll get to later. :)

Bach

I grew up on Bach and while he is not my favorite of the classical composers (okay I know technically he is a baroque composer not classical but sometimes I just group them all together so there!). The harpsichord really grates on me for some reason and a lot of his music is harpsichord music. However, I do like playing his music on the piano because it's on the piano.... not a harpsichord. ;)

Beethoven

I love Beethoven's ninth symphony a lot! It's not something I listen to all of the time... normally just when the mood takes me but it is one of my favorite classical pieces (again, I know it's romantic time period not classical but get over it! ;)). I also have some of his piano concertos.

Bolero

I have one piece by Bolero- Ravel.

Call Me Madam

This is one of my many musical soundtracks that I have. I was addicted to this one for awhile. As my friends and family know, I normally will be stuck on one song or one CD for a long time, not getting tired of it until long after everyone else is. Call Me Madam was one of those for quite awhile. It has a lot of fun music.

Celtic Woman

I'm a big fan of the Irish women's musical group Celtic Woman. I even got to go to one of their concerts once. I have multiple CDs of theirs.

Christmas

This is a bunch of instrumental christmas music I got for free for a reason I don't remember.

Christian

This is my playlist of various Christian music. I have everything from hymns to Hillsong. My favorites on there are When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (to the tune of The Water is Wide), Bless the Lord O My Soul, and Blessed Be Your Name. However, my favorite hymn of all time is Be Thou My Vision... I'd just rather sing it than listen to it.

Classic Rock

This has a bunch of random classic rock songs. Beach Boys, Frank Valli and the Four Seasons, Billy Haley, a couple Elvis Presley songs and more. This is what I listen to when I want to swing dance. :)

Copland

I don't listen to him a lot but when I do it's Hoe Down... it's a lot of fun!

Disney

This playlist has a crazy assortment of Disney music! Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid (the story is kind of dumb but the music is incredible!), Frozen, Tangled, Enchanted, one song from Hercules (I hate the movie though) and one song from Mulan. It's always fun to listen to a little Disney music. :)

Doctor Who

This is my odd collection of various Doctor Who music including the show's theme song, the companions' themes, the doctors' themes, and a couple parody songs.

Dvorak

I'm not quite as big of a fan as my younger brother but I do enjoy Dvorka's 9th symphony. My brother is seriously obsessed with it!

Fiddler on the Roof

The story makes me sad but I love the music!

Gaelic Music

This is a collection of music by Gaelic Storm and The High Kings, two gaelic bands that I love! I have a ton of favorites in this playlist and I listen to it a lot! Gaelic music is just so fun!

Gilbert and Sullivan

One day a few months ago I went on a kick and listened to nothing but Gilbert and Sullivan all day! So then I had to upload more of their music onto my computer to add to my collection. They're all in separate playlists by the title of the operetta. This playlist just is a "best of" collection. If you aren't familiar with Gilbert and Sullivan you should be! They were a duo who wrote operetta's together. Sullivan wrote the music and Gilbert wrote the lyrics/play. They're hilarious plays and so much fun and the music is just the same!

Grieg

I love Grieg's piano concerto and the piece "Morning".

Haydn

He has some great symphony's that I should probably listen to more than I do.

Home for Christmas

This is Celtic Woman's Christmas CD. I just didn't want to put it in the same playlist as their other music as it's Christmas music.

Indulgences

This is the playlist I'm probably most embarrassed to admit what songs are in it. This song has the widest assortment of songs. I called it Indulgences as it has music that I feel are indulgences.... duh! However, it's morphed into favorites/music I don't know what playlist to put it in. It started out with three songs and has now grown to 25 songs but it's fluctuated a lot. For example, I used to have my Piano Guys music in there but I moved it out when I got so much of it I thought it deserved it's own playlist. So what am I embarrassed about in this playlist? My pop music. It's dumb music I know but it's so catchy that I get sucked in! I don't listen to the bad pop music never fear, it's just dumb. I do have some classic country music in there as well such as Devil Went Down to Georgia. I have a lot of parody songs in here too. I also have one Julian Smith song and one Rhett and Link song. The majority of the songs in this playlist are in my top twenty-five most listened to songs. I just listen to this playlist a lot. I'm trying to get away from that now.

Mendelssohn

I have his Midsummer Night's Dream music as well as his Songs without Words and The Hebrides. I love them all!

Messiah

Meaning Handel's Messiah. I don't think I need to tell you that this music is amazing!

Mozart

Probably my favorite classical composer! I have a lot of his music.

Music Man

I love the music from this musical but the storyline is kind of dumb! I was definitely on a kick with this one for awhile.

My Fair Lady

The music in this movie is amazing!!!!! And it's a hilarious movie. :)

Opera

This playlist has a wide assortment of opera music. This is definitely a playlist that I have to be in the mood to listen to. I'm very selective about the opera music I listen to as well because some of it is just boring.... I'm sorry opera lovers.

Orla Fallon

Orla is a former member of Celtic Woman and this playlist contains one of her Christmas CDs.

Pachebel's Canon

This is a CD that has a million different variations of Pachebel's Canon.

Paganini

I listen to his music every once and awhile. I have his violin concertos.

Patsy Cline

I have a deep love for Patsy Cline's music. It's kind of an indulgent music. It makes me feel sentimental and romantic. :) My Dad is actually a big fan of Patsy Cline as well which I found funny.

Pavarotti Christmas

You know Pavarotti? Famous Tenor? Yeah, well this is a collection of him singing Christmas music.

Piano Guys

Here's my collection of music by the group Piano Guys that I mentioned earlier. They're music is a lot of fun and is great for listening to when I'm studying because it is pretty much all instrumental.

Pirates of Penzance

One of the aforementioned Gilbert and Sullivan's operettas and probably my third favorite. :)

Praise and Glory

A CD full of instrumental hymns that are beautifully arranged!

Rhapsodies Enesco/Liszt

This playlist contains a collection of rhapsodies by Unesco and Liszt... if you couldn't gather that from the title. ;) Rhapsodies are tons of fun to listen to. :)

Rubenstein/Rachmaninov

I'm not sure why both composers are in the same playlist but I'm going to assume that it was because they were on the same CD. They have great piano concertos.

Saint-Saens

Some beautiful piano concertos.

Seven Brides for Seven Brothers

My favorite musical! It's just so hilarious, fun and quirky and the music is great!

Singin' in the Rain

Probably my second favorite musical. The music is classic and the movie is hilarious!

Smetna

So I'm looking at the music in this playlist and wondering why it's entitled Smetna. There is only one Smetna piece in it and the other three songs are by different composers. I'm just going to assume that they were all on the same CD again.

Sound of Music

Another musical! :)

Soundtracks

One of my favorite playlists and a great one for when I am studying as all the music on here is instrumental except one song. Now you may be asking the same question my brother did, "Why is this one called Soundtracks when you already have separate playlists with soundtracks from musicals?" Good question. This playlist has soundtracks to films that aren't musicals. It contains lots of LOTR and The Hobbit music as well as music from period drams such as Little Dorrit, Pride and Prejudice, The Scarlet Pimpernel and Lorna Doone and then additionally has some music from John Williams such as the music from Jurassic Park, Indian Jones and Star Wars.

Tchaikovsky

Probably my favorite composer from the Romantic time period. I love his 1812 overture, Capriccio Italiano and Marche Slave. I also have his music for Romeo and Juliet, Sleeping Beauty, and Swan Lake. Additionally I have his piano concerto and violin concerto, which are also great!

The Gondoliers

Probably I shouldn't have "The" in front of that title, which is why it got alphabetically placed down at the bottom of the list as I didn't for any of the others. However, there we are. The Gondoliers has my favorite music from Gilbert and Sullivan. It's so beautiful, fun and catchy.

Vivaldi

I love his four seasons. I have a variety of his music. :)

So that's all the music I have! :) I wish I had Gilber and Sullivan's "The Mikado" on my computer but though my family has the CD I have't gotten ahold of it yet to put it on my computer. I also need to get "The Phantom of the Opera" on my computer.

Please don't ask what songs are in my top 25 most played because I'm too embarrassed to admit to them.... especially the top one. However, I would find it humorous if you guys commented and tried to guess them! If you guess enough right I might even admit to them! I'll be impressed if you can guess, which pop songs I listen to.

I hope you found this post interesting! Do you listen to any of the same music I do? Do you have some music recommendations for me?

With all these reasons to comment, you really don't have an excuse not to... just saying. ;)

Movie Review- Frozen

With Disney I just tend to be skeptical anymore. However the trailer for Frozen looked somewhat promising and I decided to give it a try, especially after several high recommendations. I'm so glad I did because I really enjoyed Frozen.
First coming out of the movie my comment was that the the music was it's weakest point but after almost a week of constantly listening to the music, I'm taking that back. I've come to really enjoy the music, especially "In Summer", "Do you want to build a snowman", and "Let it Go". The music is more modern, which is what first turned me off from it but it has really grown on me. The story is very sweet and different for Disney in that it focuses on the love between the two sisters. Spoiler Alert Also, for the first time in forever, Disney didn't have the princess marry someone she only knew for a day. End of Spoiler Frozen was funny, and not just goofy funny, but actually funny. From the trailer, Iwas afraid Olaf would just be a goofy funny but he actually did not come off like that… to me at least.
A little analysis on the song "Let it Go", because I think it can come off as teenage rebellion. In the song Elsa has just fled the kingdom after her magical powers being discovered. Her whole life she has been told "conceal, don't feel, don't let it show." Now though, the secret is out and at first she is depressed by that and then she realizes, well now they know so concealing her powers doesn't matter anymore. So she "Let's it go". I would say the song is very reactionary. Elsa is reacting against having to conceal her powers her whole life and being pent up and now she is letting her powers out and declaring she'll never go back. In a way she is a whole new woman and in a way she finally has her own life. I want to say in a way she can "be herself" but I hate that term. Essentially though that is what happening but in a good way. That's just my opinion on the song, probably not the best worded or thought out though. :)
In the end, I really enjoyed Frozen and I recommend you to try it out. :)
P.S. Be sure to check out my new tab with my list of favorite books. :)

Movie Review- Wreck it Ralph

This came out a while back, I know. I watched it a little more than a month ago and now, finally, I am writing this review.

So procrastinating aside, here is my review.

Synopsis: Wreck it Ralph, the villain of the game Fix it Felix, is tired of being the bad guy and being rejected and never winning a medal so after 30 years he decides to go win himself a medal... in another game. Havoc ensues and now Ralph must fix it along with the help of his new friend Vanellope.

First off, I did enjoy the film, it was fun and funny and as many before me have said, far more resembled a Pixar movie than a Disney movie. One thing I didn't like about it was that I didn't feel like it had much of a point. Yeah, okay, it somewhat of a point "you don't have to have a medal to be a hero", but I'm not sure it quite worked for me. Anyone else's thoughts or am I just being silly? I also didn't like the bit of crude humor that snuck in. There was also a little political stuff at the end I thought was silly/dumb but didn't ruin the movie for me.

There was lots I did like. The characters were great, unique in their own way and playing their part in the story well. The cute relationship that springs up between Vanellope and Wreck it Ralph is touching.  I liked that Fix it Felix actually was a good guy. I assumed on first seeing him that he wouldn't be and that Ralph's and his rolls would be reversed but I was wrong. However I'm glad I was because I really like Felix in this movie. King Kandy was a great villain and... no, no spoilers, just watch it. I think all of the characters had good back stories that pulled the movie along and added interest.

I am sure there was lots of video game humor that I totally missed (because I don't play video games) but I think I might have gotten some of it. That being said, it was quite funny. I loved the references they made to The Wizard of Oz, which completely cracked me up. King Kandy was hilarious too. As I mentioned before there was some crude humor that disappointed me.

So all in all, it was a fun  and entertaining flick. Let me know your thoughts on it! :)

My Favorite Disney Songs

I got in a phase earlier this week of listening to a whole bunch of "Top Disney songs countdowns" on YouTube.  I agreed with some but disagreed with a lot. To be fair, there are a lot of Disney movies that I never watched a kid and there are some that I watched once as a kid but don't remember because that was the only time I ever watched them.  Most notable ones that I haven't watched or don't remember watching that I know have songs that people love are The Lion King, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Tarzan, Lilo and Stitch, Princess and the Frog and Mulan. I am thankful that my parents were selective on what movies we watched and they had various reasons for not letting us watch those. Recently I have become familiar with a lot more Disney songs from movies that I still haven't seen but I enjoy the songs.  So here is my list.  I know you may not agree with me but there it is, I didn't agree with the others either.  I have these kind of in three tiers of greatness and then a fourth tier of ones that I still enjoy even though they aren't exactly "great".  Within the tiers, the songs are not in any order.

1. There is no way one could pick the best, so these are just four very dear favorites.

  • Under the Sea, The Little Mermaid
  • Kiss the Girl, The Little Mermaid
  • The Silly Song, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
  • Be Our Guest, Beauty and the Beast
2. Just a step below those above... a very little step.
  • Beauty and the Beast, Beauty and the Beast
  • Belle, Beauty and the Beast
  • Whistle While you Work, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
  • Heigh Ho!, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
  • Bluddle-Uddle-Um-Dum, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
  • I Wanna be Like You, The Jungle Book
  • Bear Neccesities, The Jungle Book

3. Still very high up there but not quite as great.
  • Mother Knows Best, Tangled
  • And at Last I See the Light, Tangled
  • I've Got a Dream, Tangled
  • When Will my Life Begin, Tangled
  • Gaston, Beauty and the Beast
  • Bella Notte, Lady and the Tramp
  • Something There, Beauty and the Beast
  • Cruella DeVil, 101 Dalmations
Other Favorites
  • I'll Make a Man out of You, Mulan
  • Be Prepared, Lion King
  • I Won't Say I'm in Love, Hercules
  • Part of Your World, The Little Mermaid
  • Poor Unfortunate Souls, The Little Mermaid
  • Winnie the Pooh, Winnie the Pooh
  • Heffalumps and Woozles, Winnie the Pooh
  • The Unbirthday Song, Alice in Wonderland
  • Trust in Me, The Jungle Book

You will have noticed that to resist a musical quandary I did not include Disney Pixar music or music from non-animated Disney films (aka Mary Poppins).
