It was a great last week of spending time with family, getting some reading and crochet in and relaxing a little. My sister and I also got to finish watching the first season of Lark Rise to Candleford (we can't wait to get ahold of the second season!) which we really enjoyed. We also started watching the 2005 version of Bleak House, which should also be fun. As a family we also watched our family favorite White Christmas since it's that wonderful time of the year. :) Kansas has been getting it's share of the whiteness with ice coating every tree and blade of grass in our yard currently. On Thanksgiving our power would flicker off multiple times during the day but thankfully it would stay on long enough at a time for us to get the dinner made. While that made the day a little more hectic then we liked we were thankful that we didn't lose it completely. I absolutely love Christmas and giving gifts so I'm excited for this coming month of festivities and most importantly celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. :)

Currently Reading
- Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen (re-read) (audiobook)- I had no plans to re-read Norhtanger Abbey any time soon (though I love it dearly) but my little sister and I have been crocheting a lot together and our mom doesn't like us crocheting while we watch movies or TV shows all of the time so this is our compromise. :)
Finished this week
- The Dry Divide by Ralph Moody
- The Chosen by Chaim Potok (re-read)
- Betsy-Tacy by Maud Hart Lovelace (re-read)
Coming Soon
- Horse of a Different Color by Ralph Moody
- Beloved by Toni Morrison
- Betsy-Tacy and Tib by Maud Hart Lovelace
- Betsy-Tacy Go Over the Big Hill by Maud Hart Lovelace
- Betsy-Tach Go Downtown by Maud Hart Lovelace

Great to have such an amazing time, and the crochet looks great. I saw this adorable crochet hats for little girls on Facebook - very tempting to try!
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun to crochet during the winter... very cozy. :)
DeleteLooks like you're getting some wintery weather out there, we got some snow a week or so ago but it didn't last long. It's getting colder though with 20's at night the last few days... love White Christmas, one of my favorite movies and we watch it every year at this time. Never get tired of it! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's an annual movie for us as well. I'm not sure if we're getting into the twenties overnight because I don't pay terribly much attention to the temperature. I work on extremes.... COLD and acceptable. ;)
DeleteIt sounds like you had a really great week!
ReplyDeleteI think winter is the perfect time to delve in to classic literature!
Reading With Jade
It is! It is very cozy.
DeleteI hope the snow stays away from Pittsburgh this year, but I highly doubt it will. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun time with the crocheting.
Looks as if you had a busy reading week.
ENJOY this week.

My It's Monday, What Are You Reading
Thank you!
DeleteSo glad you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! :) And recognize lots of titles on this post. The Chosen's fantastic. Need to reread it one of these days....
ReplyDeleteIt is so good! I learned so much about Judaism from it.
DeleteYou and your sis are cutely dressed! I love how you are "hookers" since I'm a knitter. I watched Larkrise to Candelford some time ago; it was a great series. I was happy to view one of Downton's actors' earlier work.
ReplyDeleteWe are really enjoying it. I haven't seen Downton yet but I might try it in the future.
