Time Devoted to Reading
Two hours a day hopefully. It's my first week of school so I can't just douse myself in reading like I'd love to be doing. :) Some of the books on my list I have as audiobooks so that might make it easier.
My Goals
To read/finish five books.
Books I Hope to Read
- Hamlet (finish) by William Shakespeare
- Macbeth by William Shakespeare
- Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
- Bridge on the River Kwai by Pierre Boulle
- Our Mutual Friend (Finish) by Charles Dickens
- Harry Potter (not sure how many) by J.K. Rowling
- Time Machine by H.G. Wells

DeleteFirst of all, good luck with your first week of school. Secondly: great books! Hope Harry Potter is as magical as ever. I've rented the audio book of Romeo and Juliet yesterday. I know the story but I have never read (or in this case listened) to it. Hope you meet your goals and good luck, Lois!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I know the story of Romeo and Juliet as well but have yet to read/listen to it. In some ways though I already feel like I have as I have read many abridged versions of it.
DeleteYeay for Harry Potter! Happy reading and good luck :D

Thank you!
DeleteI sense a decidedly Shakespearean theme to your reading goals! My favourite work of Shakespeare so far would definitely be Julius Caesra :) Curious to hear your thoughts! Enjoy the week reading whoop.

I read Julius Ceaser when I was in high school and I remember enjoying it. I'm trying to complete Shakespeare's most famous works that I haven't already read yet before I get down to his more obscure works.
DeleteGood luck with your first week of school. Hopefully you will be able to squeeze some reading in
ReplyDeleteThanks! I sure hope to.... probably I'll squeeze in more than I should. ;)
DeleteHooray for Bout of Books during a busy week! Your school year has started, and mine is just two weeks away from starting - which means lots of time getting my classroom ready. Audiobooks are a great idea (especially for Shakespeare). That may be the only way I get any reading in this week! :)
ReplyDeleteI forgot you were a teacher! Good luck with that this year. :)
