It's Monday! So it begins...

I'm now officially one test, one pharmacology assessment, one clinical performance examination and one final away from Christmas break! So close... and so far! :( I feel like this whole month is going to be a roller coaster careening right into December and the dreaded finals week... so it begins....
So... on a brighter note... how's reading been going?

Finished this week

  • King Solomon's Mines by H. Ryder Haggard

Currently Reading

  • Last of the Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper
  • Death Comes to Pemberly by P.D. James
  • Prayer by John Bunyan

Coming Soon

  • Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo
  • Here I stand: A Life of Martin Luther by Roland Bainton
We'll see what gets done this week. Last of the Mohicans is kind of a tedious read, and that's from someone who enjoys Dickens, so I'm not sure how long it will take me to read it. I like it so far though, just hard to get into.
On an non book related note, any other Doctor Who fans out there? What did y'all think of the finale? Just watched it today and I'm still not sure how I feel about it... it was kind of heartbreaking... and I don't get emotional over movies/TV shows. If you've seen it you know what I mean.

  1. Some hefty reading choices there. I didn't enjoy Death Comes to Pemberly. In fact it was a DNF for me and I put it aside after a few attempts!

    1. Ahhh! You scare me! :( I tend to be a Austen purist and I don't read the spin offs but my mom read it and thought it was good and since we have pretty much identical tastes in literature I thought I'd try it out.

  2. I read King Solomon's Mines years ago, when I was about 17, I think. I remember enjoying it, but it was a bit of a haul at times. Have a great week!

    1. It is kind of fun, a little hard to read at times but mostly just a good British adventure novel. :)

  5. I've never read "The Last of the Mohicans," but my mom said it was her favorite book when she was a kid. Hmmm, I'm not sure I want to read it if its tedious. Oh well!

    1. Well I guess I will withhold final judgement till the end, but so far, while it is interesting, and has a plot I like, the writing is quite descriptive.

  6. I admire your goal to read the classics. I couldn't do it. I'm really a fan of current genre books. Here is my week. Happy reading!

  7. Was Hunchback your Classics Club spin book? I've got that one on my list to read someday. I hope it's enjoyable, because it's a pretty long book!
