It's Monday! Reading Completed!

My Goodreads goal of reading 100 books this year is completed plus one and all of my reading challenges are completed as well! I have a very satisfied feeling right now. :) I'm ridiculously giddy about next year's reading. I start getting very excited when I being to plan out my reading year. I'm not a very organized person but somehow deciding what books I want to read for the next year gets me as close as I'll ever be. :)
Also, I SAW THE NEW STAR WARS MOVIE SATURDAY!!!!!! Insert a video of Lois giggling geekily for five minutes straight here... not that she did that or anything. ;)
I did liked it.... it wasn't the next best thing to sliced bread or anything but it was good. Better than the prequels... but that's not saying much. ;) Hopefully I'll have a review out soon. :)

Finished this Week

  • Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
  • Beloved by Toni Morrison
  • Charlotte's Web by E.B. White (re-read)

Currently Reading

  • Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen (audiobook) (re-read)
  • The Institutes of the Christian Religion by John Calvin (this is going to take me a very long time but I can already tell it's going to be worth it)

Coming Soon (A whole new year of reading!!!!!)

  • Othello by William Shakespeare (audiobook)- My Classics Club spin
  • Who knows!!!!! :)
I participate in the Broke and Bookish secret santa this year for the first time and my package came in the mail this past week!  I got a copy of Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World that Can't Stop Talking, Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone (now I have only one Harry Potter book left to acquire!), chocolate (very Lois approved) and real Tea... as in not even in a bag... loose leaf tea.... I've never had loose leaf tea before! :)
I can't wait to celebrate Christmas with my family and I wish you all a very blessed Christmas! :)

  1. 100 books in a year would be amazing to me! I'm doing good to get half that number. I like planning my reading, too - but usually end up reading something completely different. Hope you have a good week of reading and enjoying the holidays!

    1. This last year I had my year so planned out I couldn't read something different... I'm going to be much more flexible this year.

  2. Yay for Star Wars- although I didn't love it it was nice to see it back on the big screen. I needed to see more Luke Skywalker and more sense of the bigger picture, rather than recycled plot points, but maybe that's just me. I liked Rey a lot.

    1. I agree. I'm sentimental though so even though it was recycled I couldn't help but like it. I think a lot depends on where they go with the rest of the movies.

  3. The Goodreads Challenge is the only one I joined this past year...and I set my bar so low that I exceeded it. That works for me! LOL.

I have Rebecca on my shelf for a reread...whenever I find the time.

I read the book Quiet this year, but I didn't enjoy it...others did, however. Thanks for sharing...and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

  4. Congrats on 100 Books! *high five from far away*
Sometimes, I feel like I spend more time planning what I'm going to read than actually reading. And then I toss the plan out the window after about five minutes. ;)

How cool that you're reading the Institutes! Calvin is pretty popular in our house. :D

I saw Star Wars yesterday. It wasn't AMAZING, but it was amazing, if that makes sense:)

  10. Congratulations on finishing all your challenges! I'm not done yet, but there's over a week left, so maybe. And I'm enjoying being the first in my house to have seen Star Wars, although I'll take the kids out sometime this week so they can catch up.

Happy Reading in the New Year!
