Shelf Love Challenge

Hosted by Second Run Reviews and you can see more information HERE
I bought a lot of books last year and read just about none of them so this is a perfect challenge for me to get some of those books I bought off of my TBR list. For this challenge I'm only going to include books I personally own and not books off of my parents' shelves (there's a lot of those too!). From a quick count I see I have 35 books on my shelves that I've not yet read. I'm going to try to knock 11-20 off which is the "Pat your shelves on the back" level. Hopefully I'll do more than that but that's as many as I'm willing to commit to right now. I don't think I'm going to do any sort of ban on how many book I buy. I probably should but I won't. When I see a book I've been wanting for awhile I get it... I don't let opportunity slip through my fingers!
Here's a short list of the ones I hope to knock off the list.
  1. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
  2. Mr. Darcy's Diary by Amanda Grange
  3. Mr. Knightley's Diary by Amanda Grange
  4. Henry Tilney's Diary by Amanda Grange
  5. Colonel Brandon's Diary by Amanda Grange
  6. Edmund Bertram's Diary by Amanda Grange
  7. Captain Wentworth's Diary by Amanda Grange
  8. Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
  9. The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
  10. Don Quixote by Miguel Cervantes
  11. Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert
  12. Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian
  13. Waverley by Sir Walter Scott
  14. Return of the Native by Thomas Hardy
  15. All the King's Men by Robert Penn Warren
  16. A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry
  17. Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman
  18. The Complete Stories of Flannery O Conner by Flannery O Conner
  19. Stranger from the Tonto by Zane Grey
  20. The Heritage of the Desert by Zane Grey
  21. Wild Horse Mesa by Zane Grey
  22. Matilda by Roald Dahl
  23. Othello by William Shakespeare (audiobook but own physical copy)
  24. Midsummer's Night Dream by William Shakespeare (audiobook but own physical copy)
  25. The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare (audiobook but own physical copy)

    1. I kind of felt I wasn't a good fit for a few my challenges as well but I tend to be really bull headed and try to complete them anyways.

    1. I love Wodehouse! I tend to re-read his Blandings Castle books more than the Jeeves books so I'm excited to indulge in them again.

  15. Will you be hosting any challenges next year? I have my Literary Loners challenge planned again, along with three new ones: Memoir Reading Bingo, Humor Reading and Epistolary Challenge. I got ahead of the game, having worked on the posts about two months ago and now I have them published on my blog. Waiting to post them on Novel Challenge.

I'm in the process of writing my memoir (you can see details on my blog) so I thought a memoir challenge would be a good idea. I once did a challenge that involved epistolary and postal reading. It hasn't been offered since, nor have there been any similar challenges, so I decided to start one. I have also found myself reading a lot of stuff that falls into the humor category. I've never seen a humor reading challenge so I though it would be fun to start one.
